New Year's Eve Concerts to Air Live on SiriusXM
NEW YORK, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that it will ring in the new year with an extensive lineup of live concerts, special performances, DJ sets, a New Year's Eve music channel and various year-end countdowns hosted by some of the year's biggest artists.

SiriusXM listeners will hear live concert broadcasts from all over the country featuring a wide-ranging lineup of musicians, including Furthur (featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead) at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA (Grateful Dead Channel, channel 23); Willie Nelson from the Moody Theater in Austin, TX (Willie's Roadhouse, channel 56); Southside Johnny at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ (E Street Radio, channel 20); Patti Smith at Bowery Ballroom in New York City, NY (The Loft, channel 30); Cheap Trick's concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, FL (Classic Rewind, channel 25); Widespread Panic at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC (Jam_On, channel 29); and Little Feat's concert at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD (Radio Margaritaville, channel 24).
SiriusXM will present live DJ sets by internationally-renowned DJs live from across the country. Listeners will hear Paul Oakenfold spin from Rain in Las Vegas (Electric Area, channel 52); Avicii from Pier 94 in New York, NY (BPM, channel 51); and Laidback Luke from Pacha in New York, NY (Electric Area, channel 52).
SiriusXM will also broadcast special New Year's Eve programming, including shows hosted by 2011's biggest artists. Justin Bieber, T Pain and Avril Lavigne will each count down their 15 favorite songs of 2011 on SiriusXM Hits 1, channel 2. On The Heat, channel 47, Mary J. Blige will play her favorite male R&B singers of the year and Trey Songz will count down his favorite female R&B singers of 2011. Robin Thicke will guest host a special year end countdown of Heart & Soul's performances from 2011 on Heart & Soul, channel 48, and electronic dance music icon Armin van Buuren will host a countdown of his top electronic dance music songs of the year on Electric Area, channel 52.
Real Jazz, channel 67, presents NPR's annual "Toast of the Nation" featuring coast to coast live jazz performances from Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves and Terence Blanchard.
SiriusXM listeners will hear special in-studio performances and concert broadcasts by artists including Naughty By Nature on Backspin, channel 46, The Little Willies (with Norah Jones) on Outlaw Country, channel 60, as well as Daughtry, O.A.R., Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump and Christina Perri from Napa, CA on The Pulse, channel 10.
SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy, channel 99, will present an evening of non-stop comedy performances by comedians like George Carlin, Doug Stanhope, Christopher Titus, Jim Breuer, Jim Florentine, Jeff Garcia and Bob Marley.
New Year's Nation, channel 3, will feature the biggest, upbeat party hits from genres across SiriusXM's music platform. The channel will launch on Saturday, December 31 at 3:00 pm ET.
